Heating rate in Saulkrasti to triple this winter
RIGA, Sept 30 (LETA) - Saulkrasti Komunalserviss utility services provider plans to triple the heating rate for households in Latvia's seaside municipality of Saulkrasti in October.
According to the heating rate plan submitted to the Public Utilities Commission (regulator), the municipal company plans to raise the heating rate from EUR 69.98 per megawatt hour (MWh) to EUR 212.25 MWh, excluding VAT. The proposed heating rate would be effective from October 20.
The company explained that the heating rate in Saulkrasti has to be changed because of increased prices of fuel and electricity.
Saulkrasti Komunalserviss is fully owned by the Saulkrasti regional council. The company closed 2021 with EUR 1.24 million in turnover and a loss of around EUR 59,000, according to data available at Firmas.lv.
